Widowhood & Resolve
Lady Lachhman Kaur lost her husband. With young children and no family support, she began rebuilding her life independently in Village Nakatpur, Ambala.
Birth of Social Work
Initiated grassroots community engagement by uniting village women and forming a Self-Help Group (SHG) — one of the earliest such initiatives in rural Ambala.
Government Recognition
Government of Haryana appointed Lady Lachhman Kaur as President of the Gramin Mahila Mandal, formally recognising her leadership among rural women. This marked the formal beginning of structured social work.
Agricultural Innovation Begins
Her son, Nirmal Singh, commenced farming operations and introduced sustainable agriculture practices. Committed to zero stubble burning — a pledge maintained to this day.
Flood Relief — Ambala
When floods struck Ambala district, the foundation mobilised with village communities to provide emergency relief, shelter, food, and support to affected families.
Girl Child Empowerment
Facilitated the dignified marriage of 11 girls from underprivileged families, ensuring their social security and future.
ICAR / CIMMYT / IRRI Trials
Collaborated with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), CIMMYT (International Maize & Wheat Improvement Center), and IRRI (International Rice Research Institute) under the leadership of Dr. Mangi Lal Jat, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR). Field trials for zero tillage, rotavator, bed planter, happy seeder, and super seeder were conducted on foundation farmland.
Champion Farmer Award
Nirmal Singh received the Champion Farmer Award from the Cereal System Initiative for South Asia (CSISA) and ICAR, supported by World Bank and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, for excellence in residue management and water conservation.
Culture & Heritage Award
Govt. of Haryana recognised the foundation for promotion of vocational training in music.
Shiromani Sewa Award
SGPC (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee) conferred the Shiromani Sewa Award for free food distribution and outstanding community support.
COVID-19 Response
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation ran Oxygen Langars, medicine camps, and distributed free food, shelter, clothing, and medicines across Punjab and Haryana. Recognised by Jal Shakti Mantralaya, Government of India.
Khalsa Aid Recognition
Khalsa Aid International acknowledged the foundation's continued COVID relief — free food, shelter, clothing, and medicines.
NGO Registration
Formally registered as an NGO, consolidating all programmes under a legal and structured entity. Core focus areas defined and formalised.

Awarded by Punjab University for outstanding community support services.
Flood Relief – PTC Punjab
Flood relief work in Punjab and Haryana was recognised by PTC Punjab — free food, shelter, clothing, and medicines distributed.
